As a hunting enthusiast, I’ve tried out almost every rifle scope available. All these years, I’ve learned that you quality has a price. This doesn’t only apply to rifle scopes but to other products as well. Upon purchasing expensive equipment, make sure to take extra good care of it. When you’re buying a preloved item, make sure the manufacturer’s warranty is included. However, there are some affordable scopes being sold now such as BSA, NcStar, Swift, Tasco and Kahles rifle scopes. These are really good scopes yet friendly on the budget. Since you can easily acquire less expensive scopes, there’s no point in buying used ones. This will even spare you from possible headaches if ever the old ones malfunctioned.
But high quality preloved scopes is a different story. Scopes like Trijicon, Zeiss, Leupold and Swarovski are definitely worth every money spent. These scopes are the crème de la crème of scopes. Swarovski takes the lead. Made of the finest quality materials, Swarovski scopes are designed to withstand any harsh environmental elements. Their housings are created from A-1 aluminum. Durability is a very important factor in rifle scopes. They should be able to endure any given situation without losing its accuracy. Investing in a used yet high quality scope is definitely worth it.
Nikon offers some good bang for your buck. Their Buckminster and Monarch sell around $250. Their flagship rifle scope which is the Monarch boasts a 30mm tube variation. Both the Monarch and Buckminster offer a terrific 95% light transmission specification. Quality and affordability come with the Nikon name. However, if ultimate value for money is what you’re looking for, then cheap Kahles scopes are recommended. Some of their models can be found for less than $100! Look up some of the following to see some of the best value scopes out there:
- Kahles KX 35 10x50mm
- Kahles Wien (KW) Zf69 6x42 Sniper scope
- Kahles 3.5 10x50mm
- Kahles CL 4 12x52mm
- Kahles 3 9X42
- Kahles 4x32 Helia S
- Kahles Helia (KH) 3 12x56mm
- Kahles ZF 84 10x42mm
Another brand that provides great value for the buck is the Burris brand of rifle scopes. They’re also quality scopes that come with a lifetime warranty that is transferrable. So if you ever encounter some problems with your second hand scope, you can always send it back to the manufacturer and they will fix it in no time. You can be assured that it will be taken care of as long as you have the warranty.
The scope you choose, whether used or brand new, must be able to meet your standards and requirements. In this way, time and money won’t be wasted. You can always take a look at Nikon or Burris, but I highly recommend the lower end Kahles models because with them, there’s a good chance of finding the perfect scope that will satisfy your every need, on a BUDGET!
